One of our favourite things about Perth is all the incredible markets. They are perfect for so many reasons. We absolutely love getting out of the office and checking out some of the markets Perth has on offer. Whether you’re after a gift for a friend, fresh, tasty food, or just a wander and a browse, here are some of the best Perth markets you should check out this May!

Mother’s Day Market at Yagan Square

Where: Yagan Square, CBD
When: Saturday 11th May 9:30am – 3:30pm

Still stuck for something fun to do with Mum this weekend? In need of a last-minute gift? Head down to the new Yagan Square development and check out the Mother’s Day Market hosted by Perth Makers Market. There is a wide array of gorgeous handmade goods and gifts, as well as a Flower Crown Workshop for all to enjoy!

Perth City Farmer’s Market

Where: Perth City Farm
When: Every Saturday 8am – 12noon

Nestled in bustling East Perth, Perth City Farmer’s Market runs each week selling farm-fresh produce and organic products. The markets are held in the lush green courtyard, right next to the homely City Farm Café. You can spend hours here browsing all the biodynamic goods, relaxing with a cup of coffee whilst the kids enjoy the play pit.

Perth Makers Markets

Where: Heathcote Cultural Precinct, Applecross
When: Sunday 19th May 9:30am – 3.30pm

With over 150 stalls to browse from, Perth Makers Market is your one-stop market for artisan crafts and unique handmade items. With a wide range of food on offer, a whole bunch of kids’ activities, and the nearby art gallery and museum, there is endless entertainment to make a whole day out of.

Joondalup Growers Market

Where: South Central Park, Joondalup Central
When: Every Saturday 8am – 12noon

The Joondalup Growers Market has a huge range of Western Australian fruits, vegetables, meats, cheeses, jams, bread, olive oils and more, all sourced locally and sustainably. The market is open from 8am-12pm every Saturday. So whether you’re after fresh, local produce for your weekly shop, a healthy raw juice and bacon, egg & rocket roll for breakfast, or both, this market is definitely one you should check out!

Growers Green Farmer’s Market

Where: Fremantle College, Beaconsfield
When: Every Sunday 8am – 12noon

Another great supermarket shopping alternative is the community-run markets at Fremantle College. Every Sunday from 8am you can find a wide range of local goods, from fresh fruit and veg, to bread, organic meats and even organic dog food.

Vic Park Farmer’s Market

Where: John MacMillan Park, East Victoria Park
When: Every Sunday 8am – 12noon

Every Sunday from 8am at the picturesque John MacMillan Park under the towering Morton Bay fig trees there is an array of stallholders selling locally sourced produce, fresh baked goods, gourmet and organic foods and artisan products. Each week there is also a show of busking talents and local musicians. The funds raised each week from the market go directly towards the local Primary School, even more reason to check out this weekend market!

Subi Farmers Markets

Where: Subiaco Primary School
When: Every Saturday 8am – 12noon

One of the oldest farmers markets still operating weekly in WA, Subi Market is a fantastic community market offering a wide selection of produce and gourmet foods. The stalls at the vibrant market are also constantly changing, so there is always something new and exciting to try. Close to the Subiaco shopping district, you can always take a walk down Rokeby Road after you’ve finished up your grocery shop.

Made-It-Market

Where: Whiteman Park
When: Sunday 26th May 10am – 4pm

Make a day of heading out to Whiteman Park, exploring the Made-It-Markets, a carefully curated handmade-only market featuring over 100 stalls with locally made products. With food trucks and beverage vendors on-site, as well as kid’s entertainment and live music, this market is a must-visit this May.
